|Chinese vice premier stresses employment|
BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiangon Tuesday called for more active measures to stabilize and expand employment.
The efforts should be targeted especially at college graduates, migrant workers and groups with difficulties to find jobs, said Zhang at a meeting on national employment work in Beijing.
China provided 11.02 million new jobs in urban areas with urban registered jobless rate at 4.3 percent in 2009, over-fulfilling the annual tasks for the year, Zhang said.
The employment situation was still tough in 2010 and more effective measures should be made to stabilize employment, Zhang said.
Employment of college graduates should be given top priority, and they should be encouraged to go to grassroots, central and western regions and medium and small enterprises for jobs, or start their own businesses, Zhang said.
More work should be done to help migrant workers find jobs in cities or their hometowns and help people with difficulties find jobs, Zhang said.
