|Notice on the Adjustment of the Requirement on Nucleic Acid rt-PCR and IgM Serum Antibody Tests and the Adjustment of Designated Testing Institutions|
Recently, there have been imported COVID-19 cases from Bulgaria in China, confirmed cases and denied entries in transit countries. Thus, to better protect your health and safety, the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria once again advises travelers to avoid all nonessential and non-urgent travels. For passengers who have urgent need of travel, please follow the test guidelines and requirements updated as below:
I. IgM serum antibody test must be performed by medical professionals through venous blood sampling, and the test report should include the following terms: Serum, IgM, Venous, etc. Finger-prick blood testing is not accepted. The ID No. on the test report should be consistent with your passport number.
II. When applying for a Health Code or a Health Declaration Code, applicants are required to upload not only the test report, but also hand-holding passport photos, passport information page, and whole flight ticket itinerary. If the system does not have a special upload window, please submit it in the report uploading window.
III. A ) As there are currently no direct commercial flights from Bulgaria to China, those departing from Bulgaria to China through a third country must first take both the nucleic acid test and IgM test in a test facility approved by the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria within 48 hours before boarding. Once received, the reports of negative result must be forwarded to the Chinese Embassy for issuance of a Health Code or a Health Declaration Code. B) Upon arrival in the transit country (the country of departure for direct flights to China), passengers must perform a second set of sampling and testing in a test facility approved by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the country of transit (please refer to the relevant message on the website of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in that country) , and submit the reports of negative result to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the country of transit in order to receive a Health Code or Health Declaration Code. These tests again must be performed within 48 hours before boarding the flight to China.
IV. Currently, many countries renew regularly their entry and exit policies in wake of the pandemic. It is advised that you choose your transit route carefully, familiarize yourself with the rules of entry and test requirements of the country of transit. Make an appointment for testing at the airport in advance or apply for a visa if necessary and make arrangement for accommodation in the country of transit accordingly, so as to avoid getting stranded due to denial of entry, unavailability of second testing in the country of transit or failure to meet the requirements for the Health Code/Health Declaration Code, which may result in increased risk of infection.
V. Passengers are strongly recommended to take personal protection very seriously and to avoid infection in travel and stay before departure. Minimize public contact after testing in order to ensure your health and journey.
