Chinese people and non-government organizations are continuing to donate money to the Asian countries that were hit by the massive earthquake and tsunamis.
The China Charity Federation has opened up a nationwide hotline and account to facilitate donations.
Local offices of the China Red Cross have also been overwhelmed by donations.
Meanwhile, many institutions, including China Radio International, have made huge donations.
Many Chinese companies have pledged funds for the relief and reconstruction of the affected countries, among them China's leading computer manufacturer Lenovo which will offer half a million US dollars.
In addition, the General Administration of Sport has raised nearly four hundred thousand Yuan, or 48 thousand US dollars. Many Chinese Olympic champions have participated in the fund-raising campaign.
