China-India Talks Successful

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan has stated that the first strategic dialogue between China and India was successful.

Vice Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and Indian Foreign Secretary Shhyam Saran held talks in New Delhi Monday and reached broad consensus on regional and global issues.

The spokesman said China and India hold similar views on maintaining international security and stability. He further noted close communication and consultation will help the two countries increase mutual understanding and maintain regional peace and stability.

Kong Quan also voiced his expectation to solve China-India border issues as soon as possible to develop bilateral relations more rapidly.
