1. Chinese Export Commodities Fair (CECF) , also called Canton Fair

Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also called Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn since it was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957. It is China's largest trade fair of the highest level, of the most complete varieties and of the largest attendance and business turnover. Preserving its traditions, the Fair is a comprehensive and multi-functional event of international importance.
Forty-eight Trading Delegations, being composed of thousands of China's best foreign trade corporations (enterprises) with good credibility and sound financial capabilities, take part in the Fair, including foreign trade companies, factories, scientific research institutions, foreign invested enterprises, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, private enterprises, etc.
Besides traditional way of negotiating against samples, the Fair holds Canton Fair online. The Fair leans to export trade, though import business is also done here. Apart from the above-mentioned, various types of business activities such as economic and technical cooperations and exchanges, commodity inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising, consultation, etc. are also carried out in flexible ways. Business people from all over the world are gathering in Guangzhou, exchanging business information and developing friendship.

2. The China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT)

China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), China 's sole nationwide international investment and trade event, is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China . Held annually during September 8-11 in Xiamen, this grand event involves 45 unit members, including all Chinese governments at provincial and municipal levels, autonomous regions, governments of select cities directly under state planning, as well as ministries, commissions, offices, bureaus and national associations under the central government.

With its far-reaching internationality, authoritativeness and effectiveness, CIFIT has attracted the participation of numerous overseas and domestic governmental organizations, quasi-official organizations and enterprises. Investors, traders, investment intermediate agencies, commercial associations and chambers of commerce from over one hundred countries and regions flock to CIFIT to seek opportunities. Each session of CIFIT has over 10,000 overseas business guests and 50,000 domestic business guests. CIFIT is not only a window for foreign commodities and capital to enter China , but also an important bridge for Chinese enterprises to go global. As one of China 's most influential brand exhibition fairs, CIFIT fast becoming an international investment expo.

The 8th CIFIT has aimed at giving prominence to CIFIT's internationality and expanding the number and range of attending countries and regions, so as to expand its reputation as an international investment expo. Therefore, in addition to running the Member Unit Investment Promotion Pavilion, Investment Service Pavilion and Enterprise Pavilion, this CIFIT will highlight the Overseas Pavilion, which will be expanded to provide an efficient stage for facilitating overseas enterprises' exploration in China .

3. The East China Import & Export Commodity Fair (ECF)

The East China Import & Export Commodity Fair (ECF) is a regional trade fair with the largest scale, biggest number of traders, the widest coverage and the highest trade volume in China. East China Fair is co-sponsored by nine provinces and cities in the East China, namely Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Nanjing and Ningbo. Since 1991, 13 sessions has been successfully staged. There are three main categories: textiles, crafts and light industrial commodities. The 13th East China Fair (2003) was in Shanghai New International Expo Center with an exhibition area of 57,500 sqm and 2,966 booths in 5 professional pavilions. Among them, 44.5% are for textile & garment (over 1,300 booths), 39.99% for light industry (1,186 booths) and 15.51% for Crafts (460 booths). Apart from the nine co-sponsors, over 20 provinces, autonomous regions and cities as well as 100 foreign companies also participated in the ECF, which added the total exhibitors to 2,400, 100 more than the previous session. During the 13 years of its history, the participation breakdown have changed from state-owned enterprises only to state-owned supplemented with foreign invested enterprises and finally to triopoly of state-owned, private and foreign invested enterprises. This change reflects the process of China’s economic reform and diversification. Among the exhibitors to the 13th ECF, 874 or 38.2% are state-owned enterprises, 803 or 35.2% are private enterprises and 609 or 26.6% are foreign-invested enterprises. ECF boasts of great export volume. The 13th ECF witnessed a total export transaction of 2.04 billion USD, 20.8% higher than previous session. The breakdown of export destination are as follows: 28.1% to Japan, 17.15% to Europe, 16.06% to the US, 10.55% to HK and Macao, 5.45% to Korea, 5.29% to Middle East, 4.67% to ASEAN region, 3.17% to Taiwan, 2.32% to Latin America, 1.86% to Africa, 1.40% to Russia, and 3.98% to other regions. Transaction items are textiles & garments (1.08177 billion USD) and light industry products (901.73 million USD), 17.72% and 48.33% higher than the previous session respectively. The number of visitors to the 13th ECF set another record of 15,749, 15.41% more than the previous session. Visitors were from 175 countries or regions, an increase of 21. The breakdown of visitors by regions are as follows: 64.3% from Asia, 7.84 from Europe, 7.19% from North America, 2,54% from Oceanic, 1.61% from Latin America and 1.05% from Africa. With ever-increasing reputation, more and more professional associations and buyers give favors to ECF. The 13th ECF will house 76 participation teams (805 heads) from 16 countries or regions such as Japan, the US, New Zealand, Australia, Philippine, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, 64 teams more than last year.

4. The China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF)

The 3rd China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) will be held on June 8th-12th, 2004 in Ningbo International Convention & Exhibition Center, and its total exhibition area will reach more than 90,000 sq.m. CICGF is approved by the State Council, supported by Ministry of Commerce, is the best and largest internatinal consumer goods fair in China, and also is a key specialized export-oriented exhibition in China.
There were 1,515 stands on the 2nd CICGF with near a thousand exhibitors from 28 provinces and cities and an international buyers' exhibition hall with 18 famous international purchasing groups; nearly 10 thousand foreign businessmen and over 40 thousand domestic businessmen visited the exhibition with 610 million USD revenue of export volume.
The 3rd CICGF will set up over 1,650 stands, and will be divided into 9 exhibition areas: household textiles, garments, home appliances, light industry, arts and crafts, foodstuffs, international buyers, E-commerce and foreign trade service. It will be an ideal occasion for guests from all over the world to exchange information and to promote business.
