Q:The humanitarian situation in Iraq is
deteriorating, will Chinese government provide more
humanitarian assistance to Iraq?
A:The war has
brought severe humanitarian problems to Iraqi people. China
is very much concerned with the developments of the
humanitarian situation in Iraq and is among the first to
provide humanitarian relief assistance to Iraqi refugees.
Since the war broke out, we have provided certain amount of
humanitarian assistance material to Jordan to help the Iraq
refugees there. At the same time, the Red Cross Committee of
China has taken similar actions. Now the humanitarian status
in Iraq is deteriorating, Chinese people and the government
is very much concerned with the difficulties which is
confronting the Iraqi people and will continue to provide
humanitarian assistance to Iraqi people in various effective ways.
